About
Yorkshire College is an independent English language school in the centre of Leeds, accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English. Students come to us from across the world to prepare for university, build careers, or simply live and communicate confidently in English.
We are deliberately not a large school. With a maximum of ten students in a class, our teachers know every student goals, and our support team notices when someone needs help before they ask for it.
Progress you can measure. Courses run in clear CEFR levels from beginner to advanced. You take a placement test on day one, weekly tests with teacher feedback every Friday, and you move up a level when you pass the end-of-course test.
English happens outside the classroom too. Our weekly social programme, from the free Wednesday speaking club with afternoon tea to language exchange nights, exists because speaking to real people about real things is how fluency arrives.
A community, not just a college. Our students describe the college as welcoming and supportive. We take that reputation seriously.
Safety first. Our founder is the college named Safeguarding Lead and a trained first aider, and our welfare procedures are part of what the British Council inspects.
