Course Description
The General Afternoon courses at Yorkshire College are designed for professionals and individuals with morning commitments who want to study part-time in the afternoons. These courses focus on improving your overall English skills, with a special focus on speaking. You will also work on your reading, writing, and listening skills to become more confident in using English.
You will use course books such as Cambridge Empower, Pearson Speak Out, and Oxford English File, which will help you build your grammar and vocabulary. The afternoon classes allow you to study while managing your work or other daily commitments. Each day, you will join three lessons, where you will take part in activities like discussions, role-plays, and group work to practise using English in real-life situations.
Every Friday, you will take a test to check what you have learned during the week, and your teacher will give you feedback the same day. The course lasts for 12 weeks and is open to students from A1 to C1 levels. If you pass the final test with at least 70%, you will move up to the next level. This course is for those who want structured learning in a classroom environment while balancing their work or personal schedules.

Digital Learning
Our General Afternoon courses include a digital learning platform, so you can practise the course content outside the classroom. The platform provides a digital workbook, a digital version of the student book, and extra practice resources to support your learning. You will receive live feedback and automatic marking to help you track your progress. Teachers can set online homework and monitor your progress on the platform, making sure you stay on track with your studies while managing your other commitments.
